We are The Tolson's, a grateful married couple who have experienced freedom and healing through Jesus Christ and Celebrate Recovery. We’ve been married for 17 years after meeting when we were both 30, and we are passionate about serving others with the same grace God has shown us.
Steven is a 47-year-old pastor, CR Ministry Leader, and foster dad who has been walking in recovery for over 14 years, celebrating victory over alcoholism for four years. Originally from Woodbridge, VA, and now living in Elkins, WV, he is currently pursuing his Master’s in Pastoral Counseling – Addiction and Recovery from Liberty University. He loves hunting, fishing, gaming, and is a big fan of the WVU Mountaineers, Washington Redskins, and Atlanta Braves.
Becky is also 47, a CNA with over 30 years of caregiving experience, and celebrates victory over codependency and loving family members who struggle. A foster mom, sister, friend, and natural encourager, she has a servant’s heart and loves to cook, teach kids, and game with her husband and best friends. She’s originally from Clarksburg, WV, and now calls Elkins home.
Together, we have been Celebrate Recovery leaders for 14 years, serving side by side in ministry. We both have a deep heart for children’s ministry, having served as Sunday school teachers, and we love being part of a church community where healing and truth are freely offered.
Celebrate Recovery has transformed our lives individually and as a couple. It’s more than a program—it’s where God rebuilt us, and it’s now our joy to walk with others on their road to recovery, wholeness, and freedom in Christ.

My name is Mary English, and I’m a grateful believer in Jesus Christ who celebrates 10 years of recovery from addiction and sexual immorality. I'm a 61-year-old Army veteran (E-4), a street chaplain for the past year, and a servant in the Street Shepherd Ministry, where I work with the homeless and less fortunate. Serving on the streets has given me a renewed sense of mission—one fueled by grace, compassion, and purpose.
I’ve also had the privilege of serving in emergency medical services and as a regional jail officer, which has shaped my heart for those who feel forgotten or broken. I currently lead the women’s ministry at Celebrate Recovery, mentoring and supporting women on their own recovery journeys.
My faith and recovery journey have given me a servant’s heart. Whether I’m caring for my 91-year-old mother, supporting someone in crisis, or simply listening to someone’s story, I count it a privilege to walk beside others in love and truth.
When I’m not serving, you’ll likely find me fishing or hunting—that’s where I reconnect with God’s peace and creation. I also love to write and play music, using it as a way to express my heart and worship God.
Celebrate Recovery is not just a program to me—it’s the place where God reclaimed my life, reshaped my identity, and gave me a new calling. It’s an honor to lead, serve, and walk with others as they discover the same freedom and healing in Jesus Christ.
